Cut rock.
Don’t break it.

Precision rock excavation for the Caribbean and Central America
— where breakers are too slow, too wide,
and blasting is off the table.

Breaker vs. Cutter

Your breaker is costing you three times on every meter of rock trench.

Hydraulic breakers smash rock — they don’t shape it. In limestone and coral rock, that means over-break: a trench far wider than the pipe needs, mountains of oversized rubble to haul off, and imported fill to buy back. Rock cutters mill the rock instead. They cut exactly the profile the design calls for, and nothing more.

Type of job Hydraulic breaker KEMROC rock cutter
Trench profile Irregular, over-broken, wider than design Cut to exact design width — from 8 cm (3 in)
Productivity in rock trenching Baseline 2× to 4× higher (manufacturer data)
Excavation volume Full over-break hauled off Up to 50% less excavated material
Spoil Oversized rubble — haul away, buy fill Fine-grained material, reusable as backfill
Fuel Baseline Up to 40% less fuel for the same output
Vibration High — risk to adjacent structures Low-vibration milling
Noise Breaker impact noise 75–80 dB including the excavator
Underwater Limited To 30 m (100 ft) standard, no modifications
Rock strength Up to 140–180 MPa UCS depending on series

Performance figures: KEMROC manufacturer data. Actual production rates depend on rock strength (UCS), excavator hydraulics, and site conditions — that’s exactly what we verify with you before you buy.

KEMROC cutters are proven in limestone, sandstone, gypsum — and coral rock. The exact geology this region is built on.

Applications

What’s your job?

Pick your application. We’ll show you which KEMROC series fits — and match the exact model to your excavator.

Trenching in rock

Cut trench haul-off and fill costs — 2–4× the productivity of a breaker. Water, sewer, cable and pipeline trenches in limestone and coral rock, cut to exact width — from 8 cm, depths to 8 m standard and 14 m long-reach. Cutters also work below live utilities and cut manholes and microtunnelling shafts to exact size.

Underwater & marine works

Excavate rock underwater — no blasting permits, no dewatering. Marinas, ports, intakes and coastal protection with the facility still operating. To 30 m (100 ft) standard; custom units delivered for projects to 1,000 m. KRC integrates on cutter suction dredgers and subsea trenchers.

KEMROC cut and break demolition of reinforced concrete

Demolition & concrete renovation

Win the jobs where breakers are banned. Vibration-free, silent milling of reinforced concrete — cutting rebar up to 30 mm — at 75–80 dB including the excavator. Full working days next to hotels, hospitals and occupied buildings. Surface profiling 4–6× faster than traditional methods.

KEMROC EK 100 chain cutter milling foundations

Foundation & pile works

Profile pile heads, drill, mix and stabilize — from your own excavator. KRX powertool drives with quick-change milling, drilling and mixing attachments; drilling to 1,500 mm diameter. EBA auger drives for soils and soft rock to 50 MPa. KSI soil-cement structures (Kemsolid TSM). As geotechnical engineers, this is our home ground.

Roads & surfaces

Mill asphalt and concrete to exact depth — clean edges, no pre-cutting. EX patch planers with depth control to 19 cm (8 in), on horizontal, vertical, inclined — even overhead — surfaces. Fine-grained, reusable cut material. ES cutter heads for surface grinding and profiling.

Why GeoCivil

An engineer sells you the right machine. Not just a machine.

A wrong attachment-to-excavator match kills productivity — and in this category, “close enough” is expensive. Here’s what working with GeoCivil means:

Engineering selection

An experienced geotechnical engineer matches the cutter series and model to your carrier’s tonnage, oil flow and pressure — and to your rock’s compressive strength — before you commit. You buy once, and it cuts from day one.

Picks, wear parts & tools

Cutting rock consumes picks — that’s the physics. We supply the full KEMROC pick, pick-box and tool program with fast parts availability to the region, so your spread keeps cutting instead of waiting on consumables.

Regional sales & logistics

Authorized KEMROC sales agent for the Caribbean and Central America. One point of contact for quotes, delivery and commissioning across the region. Hablamos español.

Application support & operator training

KEMROC supports installation and operator training on every attachment; we’re your local link to it. From first setup to production troubleshooting, you’re not alone with a new tool category.
